Going on vacation
One thing I never blogged was about my work. Let me fix that.
I started working on a Portuguese bank, as system administrator of their entire infrastructure (900 servers). They call it Distributed Systems Operation. Five months after I started, the company responsible for that team changed, and they were trying to keep the employees but didn’t want to give them any conditions whatsoever.
Not the mention the weird schedules (1AM-7AM, for example) we had to do. The job was critical, and as so, there had to be at least 3 people there no matter what hour.
I decided that, for the money they were paying, and the conditions they were offering, it was a no go.
I’m now partially employed. I give classes (CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft and my own lectures). But that can be quite boring and it only comes from time to time.
Since I’m spend all my days sitting in this chair, I decided to visit my family and my home town. It’s a good time for my wife too, so we leaving Wednesday at 6AM to Azores, Terceira
Mamma’s food, here I come!
