Pimp my IRSSI

After reading the great post by Aaron Toponce on how he pimped his IRSSI I decided to do the same.

Before talking about my scripts for IRSSI, I’ll talk about TSS (Terminal ScreenSaver). Like the name describes, it runs a screensaver on your terminal, with great ASCII graphics. I took a printscreen to submit it to Debian Package of the Day, so feel free to check it out.

As for my IRSSI, I use the following scripts:

keepnick.pl - Regains your nickname when it becomes available.

nickserv.pl - To authenticate to NickServer@services., on Freenode (or any other network).

screen_away.pl - Automatacly sets your status as away when you detach the screen (this is a great one! Thanks Aaron).

trackbar.pl - Creates a bar on the last message you read, so you can continue reading thins on a channel/query when you go back to that window.

crapbuster.pl - I use it with: /set crapbuster_levels JOINS PARTS QUITS NICKS CLIENTCRAP CRAP MODE KICKS to ignore some stuff from channels.

As for the theme, I’m a fan of the default one.

All of this running in my perfect Debian install on the NSLU2!
